Please find below the latest information we have received from the ESAA regarding the National Schools Track and Field Championships to be held at Manchester on 9th,10th and 11th July 2021.
(Please note this year’s event will be very different from previous years due to financial constraints and Covid restrictions/pandemic.)
Athletes who wish to be considered for the selection for the Leicestershire and Rutland Schools Athletics team should submit their details to the relevant team manager by Sunday 13th June. All athletes will then have until Sunday 20th June 7.30p.m. to update their best performance if they have further opportunities to compete after the first deadline.

Boys Team Manager Danny Willcock firstname.lastname@example.org
All nominations must be supported by performances that have been achieved at a competition recognized on the power of ten and athletes will need a power of ten registration number. (This can be found in the web address when you click on the athlete’s name.)
Please use the entry standards which can be found on the ESAA website www.esaa.net as guide to the standard of performance required. However both the LRSAA and ESAA recognise that the opportunities for young athletes to compete and train over the past year has been limited and this will be taken into consideration. (Starting heights and progressions may be amended by the ESAA). The LRSAA selection committee will use the entry standard and an athletes ranking within the County and England on the Power of 10 website to help decide which athletes will be nominated for the Leicestershire and Rutland Schools Team.
As a County Association this year we are allowed to nominate an athlete for two events however they will only be allowed to compete in one event at the National Championships. Please indicate to your team manager which is your first and second choice event.
Once the ESAA has received the entry forms from the County Associations , they will then select up to 16 athletes per event based on their power of ten ranking on the day the entries close. Athletes who have been successful in gaining a place at the championship should know by the 25th June. No substitutions or late entries will be allowed.
A single age group will compete on each day. There will be heats and finals for 100, 200m and sprint hurdles events. For the 300m (hurdles and sprints), 400m (hurdles and sprints) and 800m there will be two seeded races with positions decided on time. All field events and distance events will be finals.
We look forward to receiving your nominations.
