MiniMarathon Trials 2020

East Midlands MiniMarathon Team Selection

Trials for the East Midlands team for the 2020 Mini London Marathon will take place at County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester on Sunday 29th March 2020. The first 6 in each race (U13, U15 and U17) will earn the opportunity to represent the East Midlands in the Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon (also the British 3 Mile Road Championships) which takes place on the morning of the Marathon itself (Sunday 26th April). Entries, which are online, close on 28/3/20.

 Boys and Girls – Under 13

  • Must be at least 11 years old on 26 April 2020 or 12 on 31 August 2019
  • Born between 1 September 2006 and 28 April 2009

Boys and Girls – Under 15

  • Must be 13 or 14 on 31 August 2019
  • Born between 1 September 2004 and 31 August 2006

Men and Women – Under 17

  • Must be aged 15 or 16 on 31 August 2019
  • Born between 1 September 2002 and 31 August 2004

Disabled Athletes Under 17 - two age groups of Under 17 and Under 14  (contact: cheriedsilva41@gmail.com for more information)

There are no trials and no teams - but entries are made individually - the first link below is for wheelchair users (Leics has had more than 4 athletes competing in the past.) and the second is for those with physical and sensory disabilities

[It may be possible to compete on 29th March as well - but this has not yet been agreed.]

 The Mini Marathon is a great experience for any young athlete and the trial is a good opportunity to compete against the best young runners in the region.
